1. Soda and sugary drinks are the largest source of calories in our diets. I was unaware that sugary drinks were the culprits for supplying the most calories to our diet. I would have attributed that to Mcdonalds or other meaty meals! An additional sugary drink can increase a childs risk by obesity by 60%. How can it be possible that a 16 oz can of soda could do so much damage and it not be advertised as such? Recently I learned that 3 or 4 conglomerates produce 90% of our food products. Thus many sugary drinks, not just soda pop are to blame for a decay in our health. For example, Coca Cola: 140 calories and 40 grams of sugar (10 teaspoons) Apple juice: 165 calories and 39 grams of sugar (9.8 teaspoons).
